Work Based Learning

Consumers toured Disability Resource Center to learn various work-based learning skills and on-the-job training for skills necessary for the following jobs as well as team building.

Housekeeping skills for jobs that could be used at a hotel, nursing home, or hospital. The duties included dusting, sweeping, changing sheets, and making the bed.

Clerical/office work duties for future jobs that could be used at an office, hotel, or school; including making copies, e-mailing, and answering the phone.

Cooking and food sanitation skills for future jobs such as a restaurant, bakery, hospital, or fast food vendor; including the importance of cleanliness when working with food, following recipes, and cleaning up.
